Salmon filet baked to perfection with a delicious Everything Bagel Seasoning crust (all around). This is super easy and fast to make. It can defnitely go under the quick, easy and healthy dinner category 🙂
- Don’t overcook the salmon. A salmon cooked to perfection should be crisp outside and moist and have a “pull apart texture” inside. The best way to achieve this is to pre-sear the salmon for a couple minutes on each side on the stove top using a cast iron skillet and olive oil. Once you start seeing a golden brown color, place the skillet in the pre heated oven and finish cooking the interior of the filet.
- Use salt free seasoning or make your own I love Everything Bagel Seasoning. However, if you are planning to coat the filet top and bottom with it, chances are it will be too salty if you use the regular store bought seasoning. The best way to use Everything Bagel on fish and chicken is to make a homemade seasoning. That way you can either: control the amount of salt added to you taste, or not add salt at all, so you can add as needed depending on the dish you are making.
In case you have no time to make your own, here (affiliate link see Disclosure) is an option that you can buy ready to use and is salt free.
If you do want to make your own, here is a recipe that you can adjust the salt to your taste (or eliminate completely).
